Editorial policy
Steve Monas is the editor of Svents and is responsible for everything it publishes. Every article carries his byline.
Sourcing
- Articles are built from source data: records, filings, event data and other primary material, not from other outlets' stories.
- Svents does not rewrite articles from other outlets, and it does not publish translated copies of other publications' work.
- Svents never invents quotes. A quote appears only if it can be found, word for word, in the source it is cited to.
- The same data snapshot is never published twice, so Svents does not publish repeat articles on a schedule.
Fact-checking before publishing
Every quote, number and fact in an article is recorded as a claim together with the source it comes from. Before the article is published, our fact-checking software looks for each claim in its cited source. If any claim cannot be found there, the article is blocked and does not publish until it is fixed.
How sources are cited
Each article links to the sources it uses. A "How this was made" box at the end of each article lists the sources, when the data was pulled, what was automated and what was checked. See how we use AI.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct it and label the correction on the article. See corrections.
Independence from ticket sellers
Svents does not sell tickets. How seller links are handled is set out in the affiliate disclosure.
